What is a Smart in the City independent driver?

With the current economy, wouldnt it be nice to keep your daily routine and still get paid to drive?

If you have one of our 17 different accepted car models, in a good condition and drive a minimum amount of miles per month, you may become one of our independent drivers! To check your car model, please visit our website under Our Fleet.

Smart in the City will wrap your current vehicle and pay you between $200 and $300 a month! You do not have to alter your driving habits in any way. All you have to do is drive and GET PAID.

We also have a new plan in which you can drive your vehicle during each of our ad campaign and get paid for it! This is an easy and fun job position.

Steps for a new campaign:

• Fill out our online application at www.smartinthecityusa.com, under Independent Drivers
• You will then receive a confirmation email along with important documents such as our requirements. Please remember that all drivers will be checked as far as their driving records. NOT EVERYBODY CAN BE A CANDIDATE!
• One or two weeks before a new campaign starts, you will receive a call from our office letting you know which company you would advertise for and when.
• You can decide whether or not you want to advertise for them. If yes, you will confirm it by email.
• Then, you will receive a simulation online of what the ad will look like with the ad on.
•   ou will then need to come for a short interview, a car inspection and you will sign your agreement. From there, you will be told to go to our wrapping company in Hollywood on the day requested by us. We will of course manage the day and time for your convenience.

• Your car will be wrapped partially or entirely, depending on your advertiser. It takes a couple hours. You can stay there or pick it up later. We will take a couple pictures of your car wrapped and note the mileage of your vehicle.
• You will receive your first 50% payment within three business days.
• After two weeks, you will be asked to pass by the office for a short checkup (5 to 10 minutes): wrapping material condition and mid-mileage.
• Then, after your first month is completed, your wrapping material will be removed.
•  You will sign again the agreement and get your final 50% payment.

What is a vehicle wrap?

A vehicle wrap is a vinyl sticker that covers (wraps) the body of your vehicle and is a great way
to advertise your business.

What type of material would you use?

We only use the best material: 3M or Oracal Material. Lamination will either be 3M or Oracal as
well. On the windows, you will get a see-thru material so it will not interfere with your visions.

How do you apply the material?

Applying a pressure sensitive vinyl film to create a vehicle wrap may seem an easy job of
placing adhesive backed vinyl film to cover a bus or truck shell but, appearances can be
deceptive. Applying fleet/vehicle wraps requires a tremendous amount of patience and
concentration in lining up each vinyl film element and transferring it to the vehicle. There are no
special machines to apply this; its all done by hand and is definitely not for the faint of heart.
The coverage of a vinyl wrap on a car can be akin to placing a series of large decals in exacting
proportions in very specific parts of the car. The trick is getting all the different vinyl panels to
perfectly line up as one complete picture. Not easy, especially on VW Beetles since they have
many round areas.
When applying a vinyl film on a car, one must take into account whether the wrap is temporary
or permanent, where its going on the car and what the material is (metal or glass). There is also
the surface condition; is it smooth? Is it corrugated? Are there separations within the surface
(window openings, door gaps, gas inlet hatch, etc.)? Covering windows is easy, but it requires a
different kind of vinyl, a perforated one-way viewing vinyl that allows it to cover windows, yet
letting passengers still see through them.

How do you remove the material?

This is the easy part. The material is made to be heated with a special heat gun and then simply
peeled off. We will then inspect your car, wash it and dry it.

How much material will cover my vehicle?

Depending on the advertiser needs, you will either get a partial wrap (2 doors) or full wrap (all
sides- windows-roof).

Should I worry about the wrap damaging my vehicle?

You do not need to worry. First of all, it can actually protect your paint from harmful sunlight rays
and minor debris, especially on the highways. Second, we work with a company that handles
every aspect of the process, from design to install. They believe that their full-service offering is
unmatched within the industry. With over 10 years experience, their reputation in the South

Professional installers carefully affix the wrap to the surface of the vehicle. The wrap conforms
to the vehicles exact shape and gives the car a factory-ready appearance.
Third, the wrap material is manufactured to last 3-5 years and the installation has a (5) year
warranty.

Can I decide which brand or design to advertise on my vehicle?

Absolutely! We will contact you first and send you the advertisers info and message for you to
decide. Some people choose not to advertise alcohol or tobacco products, and we understand it
perfectly. The vehicle is yours and you should always decide what is best for you. Smart in the
City does not accept illegal and prohibited activities advertisement, nor “morally wrong” or
discriminatory messages.

What if I need to sell my car?

Smart in the City requires you to let us know if selling your car is your intention during the time
of the contract. If so, your application will probably not be accepted. Contracts usually do not
last more than one month.
The vehicle wrap is made of a material that is easily removed. We will do this for you if it is an
emergency at no fee.

What if I get into an accident or if I damage the wrap material?

If you get into an accident or if the wrap material gets damaged, you must notify Smart in the
City within 24 hours. A consultant will inform you of the steps to take. You will probably have to
get it replaced or fixed, depending on the damage level.

How long will the vinyl stay on my car?

You can expect to have this on your vehicle for a month since most campaigns last at least 30
days.

Will I see other vehicles with the same ads on?

Yes you will. The goal is to provide the advertiser a major exposure. This type of ad campaigns
are made for bigger companies that wish to have at least 25 to 200 vehicles nationwide, driving
around with their ads on.

How do I know if my car will be a candidate?

We will contact you ahead of time to ask you if you would like to do a specific campaign. We will send you the advertisers info, and we will wait for your response.
If you accept, then you will have to bring your car for a couple hours to get it wrapped and then
you are good to go.
If you do not accept, then it is totally fine. You may be up for another campaign in the following
weeks. Remember, you are the one deciding on who should advertise on your car, we will never
impose on you!

What vehicles are currently accepted?

Smart in the City is accepting the following models. We may accept other vehicles if the
advertiser has a specific request. We update our list on a regular basis, so please feel free to check our website.
All models must be in good condition. Leased, financed or paid car are accepted. No rentals!
